Gynecomastia (Male Breast Growth)
Gynecomastia (Male breast enlargement) is one of the procedures we do frequently. Structurally, the male and female breasts are very different from each other. The main reason why the male breast is small is that there is no less estrogen hormone (female hormone) in the male body.
Other than this, the male breast may grow due to some conditions. Sometimes we also encountered situations where male breasts look like women’s breasts. Gynecomastia (breast enlargement in men) is called when a male breast is larger than normal and looks like a female breast.
Gynecomastia (Male breast enlargement) is seen as unilateral or bilateral. Pain may occur in some patients with gynecomastia. This condition, which is seen in males, is generally encountered in adolescents in the 12 to 18 age group. Rarely, there are cases where it regresses or disappears. Breast enlargement in men is a condition that is not known by many people but is frequently encountered. Approximately 40% of men also have certain levels of gynecomastia.
Gynecomastia (Male breast enlargement) treatment is surgery. Gynecomastia surgery is performed by two methods. These methods;
- Direct surgical removal
Depending on the condition of the gynecomastia patient, these methods may be used alone or in combination.

Gynecomastia (Male breast enlargement) causes the excess breast tissue surgically removed from the excess breast tissue with the incision made from the nipple. In some cases, liposuction can be applied to reduce the surrounding fatty tissue. The incision is opened according to the size of the excess fat tissue in the breast. These incisions pass shortly after surgery. Liposuction is frequently used in these procedures.
According to gynecomastia (male breast enlargement) can be done only liposuction. If the patient’s gynecomastia problem is due to excess fat, liposuction method is more preferred. During the operation, the patient is administered comfortine, an anesthetic method of pain.
